What happened today.

Today Patrick, Brooke, the boys, along with a few others and I traveled about 2 hours away to visit a community called Tippatopa, which is out in the boondocks and literally reminded me of a desert because of the unbarable heat and lack of water except for a river which is about 2 miles away.
Today's agenda was originally to pass out parasite medicine to the children at the church. In the end we asked the pastora of the church if there were any sick people around the area that needed prayer. And in result we ended up in the "Hospital" and I use that term VERY VERY loosely.
When we got to the hospital we found three patients. Two with mental retardation and the third was a 65-year old who suffered from a past shattered hip.
We asked the 65-year old to walk for us. He took his cane in hand, stood to his feet with the assistance of the "nurse" and took two and a half steps. And explained that it hurt to walk and that he couldn't lift his leg. We assisted him back into his seat and I was asked to take the lead and pray for the man. I and a group of three others laid our hands on the man and began to pray. Following the prayer we asked the man, did you feel anything? "Yes," he said. "What did you feel," we asked. He said that his hip didn't hurt him as much. We asked him to stand up and walk again. The man stood up without any assistance, began to take a step but repeated again that he couldn't lift his leg. We sat him down again and began praying again. Following the prayer we asked him if he felt anything that time, he replied, "Si." We told him to stand up again and try to walk. The man took his cane in hand, pushed himself out of the chair and began to walk almost perfectly. He walked across the entire room, stopped -- because of some chairs that were in his way -- moved the chairs, walked some more and after a big smile on his face, he took a seat on the other side of the room.
That is the type of stuff that God is doing here in Nicaragua! Miracles are being performed before my very eyes and God is touching people and making them whole!
Jesus told us that we had the power to heal the sick and raise the dead and to do much more than He did while He was walking the earth. Today I got a taste of what He was talking about. EMPOWERMENT. That's what the Holy Spirit does when you allow Him to take control.
I hope everyone is doing well back home. I posted on Facebook that there was an emergency down here. It wasn't medical, nobody was hurt, nobody was in danger. It was a few little legal issues, but like I always say, "What's legality?" (ha)
Praying that you would allow the Holy Spirit to take the lead and you would follow in step. God bless. :)
