What I'm Learning...

Date Posted: Jan 11, 2012

So, this is a great story:

A man was grocery shopping, going aisle by aisle, checking off the items on his list as he put them into the basket. He began to pass the jelly and looked at his list and saw that it wasn't there. The Holy Spirit said, "You need Jelly." He replied back, "No, I don't need jelly." The Holy Spirit repeated itself, "You need Jelly." He looked at his list again and just walked past. After finishing shopping and going home and putting away all his groceries he looked in the place where he kept the jelly -- there was nothing there. The Holy Spirit said, "I told you you needed jelly!"

That story that I was told has become a real life story in my life. No joke.

One thing that God is really teaching me is to listen to the the Holy Spirit and quit living like it doesn't exist.

A perfect example: The other day I was traveling down the road heading out of town to take some employees home for the day to visit family. As the highway split into the three-lane I began to do like I usually do and get into the middle lane. But there was a very distinct unique feeling in my stomache that said, "Don't you do it. Stay in the lane that you're in." So I did as the feeling directed and lo and behold right over a hill that you couldn't see over, there was a dead horse in the middle of the middle lane. If I had not have listened we would have hit it and possibly been killed, and the folks riding in the back of the truck would have been at minimum been flung from the vehicle and seriously injured.

That's just a taste, though! There's more, but I'm way to exhausted to list them all here.

But God is definitely teaching me how to listen the Holy Spirit.

I'll update the blog again with more juicey details later. Until then, be blessed and enjoy God's grace.

Los amo. (Love y'all.)
