Just a bit of Scripture to Chew On

Date Posted: Jan 10, 2012

This was a bit of scripture that I read over tonight and I just have to share it with you all.

Romans 11:6 (NCV) says:

6 And if he chose them by grace, it is not for the things they have done. If they could be made God's people by what they did, God's gift of grace would not really be a gift.

God's gift of grace is nothing more than that - a GIFT! We couldn't earn it. We sure couldn't buy it. And we definitely can't live without it.

Chew on that one, because God is definitely messing up my theology and my beliefs down here.

Jan 12, 2012 - Wow, I just re-read the last couple of lines of this post and realize what you have written,"because God is definitely messing up my theology and my beliefs down here." Take it from me on the other side of about three times the number of your years, it is called "maturing in Christ" and is a reason to be glad. God is making new wrinkles in your brain. Look at how the apostles changed and matured as they grew up in their faith and grace walk. I mean Paul even made amend with Mark, or Luke or whichever it was that had chosen to leave because he could not take it, on that particular missionary journey. The most important thing I have learned as I have had my faith and my theology and etc. tested beyond what I would have ever believed is that it is the only thing that I really own. I receive that gift and I keep it in my heart and pray to God when it seems to be shaken. "Lord I believe. Help my unbelief." This Christmas the gift that God gave me from His Word was Luke 1 37-38. Nothing is impossible and let it be as you have said, I am the Lord's servant. I send you God's blessing and pray that you can keep your Gift of Grace close to your heart through all that God is teaching you. "Praying God's Word over you: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not into your own understanding and He shall direct your path." Shalom.

I do hope there is something posted about your relief from it. JOY DOES COME FROM THIS VERSE,TOO, really! That will be my program for tomorrow.THANKS The joy of the Lord is KNOWING the GIFT of GOD's GRACE. Amen

Jan 11, 2012 - Great verse. I also believe that if we think we can earn it then we think we can also lose it. Neither one is true. Also hard to have joy when you are always on the fence wondering if.....
