What a fun week!

Date Posted: Jan 26, 2012

So it's been about a week so I guess it's about time for a new blog post, eh?

Where do I begin? Lots of stuff has happened this week - for one the Network was being supported by a SUPER unreliable router so it kept crashing and I had to keep fixing it.

Next, Corey, Ashley (interns who are here for a month, blog link here) and I went on a hike out of the compound, and out of Zone 3 allll the way to Zone 4. That was fun. o.O I thought I was going to die. Ha! But no, we took Frank with us as security which... eh.... now that I think about it, I probbly wouldn't do it again because he was a pretty big scaredy cat. And we walked for like 2 hours and finally got to the top of Zone 4, which is at the very top of the mountain. The view was BEAUTIFUL! I have never seen anything quite as marvelous as that -- except for yesterday, keep reading -- and we took a shortcut that Frank "knew" and I fell down the mountain a bit. Let me mention that the shortcut was not on a trail... It was more like cutting through the Amazon Rainforest.... Oh, and with mountains in it. o.O But needless to say we did not have another Buckhorn experience. ;)

Oh and so I am now a cat killer -- haha, no I didn't really kill a cat. I actually just helped to relocate a poor innocent agravating little feline....out of the compound to Xiloa.... The girls who we gave it to were very happy. And so were the employees on the compound.

And last but not least, we went to the chureca of Nindiri and saw a bunch of beautiful children of God who worked there. I'm so excited to see God start a work in that area. We are going to begin bringing teams there I believe. There was a little boy who caught my eye while we were there, too. His name was Eduardo. I don't know why, but he just caught my eye. He had about 10 rubber bands on his right arm that he found in the dump while he was scavenging around. Here's a photo of him as well as a cover for your Facebook profiles:

Please join me in prayer for Eduardo as well as the rest of the people of Nindiri. Thanks, and blessings and love to you all!

I feel a lot better than yesterday!

I was requested to post when I felt better, so here it is! Yesterday I felt pure miserable and couldn't barely stand to do anything. Today, I have a slight bit of congestion, but overall, I'm 100% better.

Thanks for the prayers and love.

Miserable

Date Posted: Jan 19, 2012

Well, I've officially gotten sick.

Today I woke up with a rather sore throat and that has esclated into a head ache, weak body, head spinning and at times a nauseaus feeling.

I'm definitely praying right now for God to make me whole and that this sickness would pass by quickly.

But I'm pretty sure that it's just sinus stuff, no viruses, just sinus infection.

Thought I'd let you guys know so you could pray. Love you guys.

So, today we're picking up more white people-- I'M SO EXCITED!!

So, tonight while we pick up the new guests, which are a married couple who are professional photographers, we're saying goodbye to the Patrick and Christy for a week while they are at a conference for Feed my Starving.

Today is going to end up being rather busy, but being busy is a blessing!

What happened today.

Date Posted: Jan 14, 2012

WARNING: This may make your jaw drop. wink

Today Patrick, Brooke, the boys, along with a few others and I traveled about 2 hours away to visit a community called Tippatopa, which is out in the boondocks and literally reminded me of a desert because of the unbarable heat and lack of water except for a river which is about 2 miles away.

Today's agenda was originally to pass out parasite medicine to the children at the church. In the end we asked the pastora of the church if there were any sick people around the area that needed prayer. And in result we ended up in the "Hospital" and I use that term VERY VERY loosely.

When we got to the hospital we found three patients. Two with mental retardation and the third was a 65-year old who suffered from a past shattered hip.

We asked the 65-year old to walk for us. He took his cane in hand, stood to his feet with the assistance of the "nurse" and took two and a half steps. And explained that it hurt to walk and that he couldn't lift his leg. We assisted him back into his seat and I was asked to take the lead and pray for the man. I and a group of three others laid our hands on the man and began to pray. Following the prayer we asked the man, did you feel anything? "Yes," he said. "What did you feel," we asked. He said that his hip didn't hurt him as much. We asked him to stand up and walk again. The man stood up without any assistance, began to take a step but repeated again that he couldn't lift his leg. We sat him down again and began praying again. Following the prayer we asked him if he felt anything that time, he replied, "Si." We told him to stand up again and try to walk. The man took his cane in hand, pushed himself out of the chair and began to walk almost perfectly. He walked across the entire room, stopped -- because of some chairs that were in his way -- moved the chairs, walked some more and after a big smile on his face, he took a seat on the other side of the room.

That is the type of stuff that God is doing here in Nicaragua! Miracles are being performed before my very eyes and God is touching people and making them whole!

Jesus told us that we had the power to heal the sick and raise the dead and to do much more than He did while He was walking the earth. Today I got a taste of what He was talking about. EMPOWERMENT. That's what the Holy Spirit does when you allow Him to take control.

I hope everyone is doing well back home. I posted on Facebook that there was an emergency down here. It wasn't medical, nobody was hurt, nobody was in danger. It was a few little legal issues, but like I always say, "What's legality?" (ha)

Praying that you would allow the Holy Spirit to take the lead and you would follow in step. God bless. :)
